A series of five fun 45 minute score events on Wednesday evenings using MapRun.
Next one, 27th November, Derwent Arms, Osbaldwick
Format: 45 minute score event (see below for explanation). Mass start 1830, although late starters can be accommodated until 1845. Controls recorded using either the MapRun App (see below), or manually using pen and paper! We will use maprun, so ensure you have downloaded the maprun v7 app to your phone, and Garmin users can use Maprun G from the Garmin IQ connect store. Check you have the latest version of MapRun, it should be MapRun 7.5.1
Download the event on to your phone or watch before you come.
Entries: pre-entries via Racesignup until 1700 on the night before (Tue) to guarantee a map. After this, entries will be available via Racesignup or on the evening, subject to map availability. Entries on the day: bank transfer or exact cash.
Event Fees: Individual events – Seniors £4, Juniors: £1. OR get all 5 sessions for the price of 4. Via Race Sign Up.
Results: posted on Ebor web site after the event and on the results page.
Post-event social: each event will have a designated pub or bar for a post-event drink (and/or meal if available) – a great way of getting to meet club members!
Safety: Runners must wear hi-vis vest, jacket or other top, and be aware that courses will be crossing roads, some may be busy. A head torch is essential, as is either pen/pencil or smartphone/Garmin/Apple watch for control recording. As the events are held on public roads, event insurance requires that under-16s may only take part if accompanied by an adult.
Score events: The aim of a score event is to score as many points as possible within the time limit. All events will have approximately 30 controls, each worth 20 points. Youwill lose 10 points for every minute or part minute you are late back!
Using Maprun: The Maprun App is available via the usual sources of apps for Android and Iphones. Go to Ebor web site to learn more about Map Run.
