Under 50’s also welcome!
Eborienteers are pleased to support the York 50+ festival 2022. We are looking forward to meeting new orienteers and have worked with our friends in Rowntree Park to put on an introductory event that will provide an active challenge.
We will be in the park from 2pm to 6-30pm in order to allow anyone working on Thursday to have an opportunity to have a go after work.
We will provide basic tuition and encouragement and there will be short sharp exercises as well as a longer course (ca 1.5km) to complete. If you think you know Rowntree Park, you certainly will if you complete our orienteering challenges!
If you want to come to the park on the Thursday, then you might also like to come to our club training night on Monday 26th Sept at 6-30pm in Millthorpe School, Nunthorpe Ave, York YO23 1WF, where we will also provide basic tuition and encouragement! This session is also offered as part of the York 50+ festival.
Location: - Rowntree Park Cafe
Fixture Date: - 29/09/2022
Look for the Eborienteers banner outside the Rowntree Park Reading Cafe. Assembly will be on the verandah of the cafe.
We would recommend use of public transport, bike, run or walk to Rowntree Park, but there is a small CYC pay and display car park in the NE corner of the park accessible from Terry Avenue.
Rowntree Park is a typical urban park with a mix of formal gardens, open grass space, buildings and some small areas of woodland.
