Back to Yearsley Woods (Gilling) meeting again at the forestry car park at N Moor Lane, York YO61 4SL. From York head N on the B1363 (to Helmsley) – in Brandsby fork left to Yearsley and go straight through the “village” on North Moor Lane. 500m beyond the cross roads in the village ignore the left fork and 100m beyond this junction turn right into an unsigned forest road with space for parking. There is a sign on the fence as you enter called ‘Windy Gates’.
We’ll be trying to match the squiggly brown lines on the map to the bumps on the ground in our most compex terrain.
£3 per person or family. Bring a compass if you have one (we have spares). Beginners welcome as always.
